The Congress on Wednesday hit out at the BJP for its comments on Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and said it was ‘not concerned’ with what the opposition party was saying.
‘We are not concerned with what the opposition has to say. They are always demanding the prime minister’s resignation. They have made it a joke,’ Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Rajeev Shukla said.
‘When asked about the fight within their own party... when they are asked about their own leaders, they are clueless,’ Shukla said taking a jibe at the debates around the probable prime ministerial candidate from the main opposition party.
The BJP, in a press conference held on the fourth anniversary of UPA-II, said Manmohan Singh was neither the leader of Congress, nor of the country. BJP leaders, however, ducked a question on the opposition’s probable prime ministerial candidate in the upcoming general elections.
