North MCD to place 1 lakh new dustbins

Aiming to clean the city and to improve sanitation, the North Delhi Municipal Corporation (North MCD) has announced to install about one lakh dustbins in its area.

North MCD Mayor Ravinder Gupta said, under the Swachh Bharat Mission, dustbins would be placed in all of its six zones by March this year. He said that these dustbins would be provided with the help of RWAs, market associations and other organisations.

These dustbins would be kept in every nook and corner of North Delhi. Besides, dustbins would also be kept in more than 5,400 parks of North Delhi.

The Mayor also informed that all street vendors/hawkers will have to mandatory keep a blue dustbin. He directed the officials to strictly implement this order else they would not be allowed to do vending.

“Nearly 1,800 well-maintained big parks are being identified where utility toilets would be developed under the mission. There would zero tolerance against negligence in implementing these instructions.

“I would personally monitor the state of affairs by inspecting the various wards in the coming March,” the Mayor said.
