North MCD launches helpline for faulty street lights

North Delhi Municipal Corporation has launched a 24x7 help line for registering complaints of non-functional street lights.
‘Power companies charge the corporation for the street lights installed but citizens complain that most of them are non-functional. But with this help line, the complaints will be immediately forwarded to power distribution companies for redressal,’ said Yogender Chandolia, mayor of North MCD (Municipal Corporation of Delhi).
Earlier, the complaints were made directly to power companies. ‘But with this provision, the corporation aims to supervise the functioning of the street lights. The service will be available at 011-2321700.
Besides, the complaints regarding faulty street lights in North MCD’s areas can also be registered on the dedicated numbers in their respective zonal offices’, the mayor added.
