North MCD issues stop work notice

Week after the North MCD began an extensive survey of unauthorised construction in Karol Bagh zone, it has issued ‘stop work’ notice to 338 under-construction properties so far. ‘The survey was conducted on 47,242 properties by eigth teams’, read the official release. During the survey 14 properties were also identified as dangerous. Notice have been issued to demolish dangerous portions like a balcony or a wall in certain properties. The civic authority has also asked the occupants to vacate vulnerable structure so as to prevent any casulaties, if any mishap occurs. The North MCD has also directed the police authorities to keep a vigil on the properties who have been issued notices to stop construction.
The corporation has also demolished and sealed illegally-developed portions in 33 properties in walled-city area with the help of local police. Besides this, action has been taken in other zones of North MCD.
