A car registered in the name of the under secretary, ministry of home affairs (MHA), north block is lying abandoned in the underground multi-level parking of North Delhi Municipal Corporation (North DMC) on Asif Ali Road. 'We don't know when the car was parked here and by whom. The details of ownership were provided by the transport department of Delhi and we have sent an individual notice to the owner,' said Y S Mann, spokesperson of North DMC.
The car bearing theĀ registration number DET 9563 is not the only such vehicle in the parking lot. The transport department has provided a list of owners of 193 such vehicles parked in the parking lot along with their addresses. 'We are sending notices to all these owners to appear before the concerned officer within 15 days and remove their vehicles by submitting the required parking fee or else the cars will be auctioned,' he added.
Interestingly, besides the official of the MHA, which is the parent ministry of the DMCs, the corporation is issuing one such notice to an officer working in its accounts department. Most of the abandoned cars parked here bear registration numbers of Delhi, especially old Delhi areas.
