North DMC sets new guidelines to regularise illegal constructions

The North Delhi Municipal Corporation has decided to launch a self assessment scheme to regularise all illegal constructions in its area already carried but are not in conformity with Master Plan-2021.

The standing committee in a decision on Monday asked all residents to submit an affidavit of the illegal constructions they had performed in these areas and get it regularised by submitting the required fee.‘Its a big opportunity for citizens to declare the unauthorised portion of their building and regularise it to save themselves from any demolition or sealing in future,’ said Ram Kishan Singhal, NDMC standing committee chairman.

He further informed that illegal constructions must be in conformity with the Master Plan. According to the scheme, the applicant will have to submit the of the construction. The unauthorised construction must be marked in red on the map.

The applicant will also have to submit that s/he will demolish the unauthorised construction which cannot be regularised even after giving this relaxation. ‘The residents are required to submit all the necessary clearances and approval along with the required fee which they can calculate themselves online,’ Singhal added.
