North DMC mayor orders CCTV cameras, security for Mahila Haat.

The only Mahila Haat in the city will now have better facilities and security arrangements for women entrepreneurs and visitors with the North DMC mayor Azad Singh directing the officers to provide better facilities at the market, during a visit on Friday.

'Security is the main issue here, so CCTV cameras will be installed at the earliest and private security guards would be deployed,' said Azad Singh, mayor of North DMC during his visit to the Mahila Haat situated atop the underground Asif Ali parking in Old Delhi area. 

'As the Haat is situated in the open and its difficult for women entrepreneurs to work here in the scorching heat, water coolers will also be provided by the corporation,' added Singh.  The mayor inspected the Mahila Haat on Friday and directed officers to regularly get feedbacks from entrepreneurs to upgrade the facilities at the Haat. The women-only Haat was opened last year.

During the inspection in Sitaram Bazar, the mayor directed officials to keep the street-lights on till 6.00 am and issue notice to companies for improper maintenance of street lights.
