North civic body to organise swine flu awareness camp

North MCD has decided to create awareness about swine flu in its area. The local civic body, which spreads awareness about mosquito and water borne diseases has shown its concerns on increasing cases of swine flu and summoned a detailed report in the meeting of the house on Monday.
‘As the cases of swine flu in the city are increasing, a detailed report has been summoned and the matter has been listed for in the meeting of the house on Monday,’ said Mahendra Nagpal, Leader of House in North Delhi Municipal Corporation (North MCD). He further added that the house is likely to pass a resolution to create awareness about swine flue in the area among citizens particularly in slums and villages.
So far nine persons have died due to swine flu which is higher than dengue and over 361 cases have been reported in Delhi.
‘We are planning to creating awareness about swine flu as it could be easily transmitted to others.
The effort of the civic bodies would be in the very interest of citizens,’ said N K Yadav, Municipal Health Officer (MHO) of the South MCD who is also incharge of the control room.
Dr K K Aggarwal who has been instrumental in creating awareness about various diseases in the city welcomed the decision.
‘Awareness is the best way to contain the disease and people need to be told about how to keep themselves away from the virus,’ said Dr Aggarwal.
