Non-bailable warrant issued against Raj Thackeray

A court here on Wednesday issued a fresh non-bailable warrant against Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) president Raj Thackeray for not appearing before it in connection with a case relating to his alleged inflammatory speech against the people of Bihar.

The additional chief judicial magistrate (second) had on 15 May issued a non-bailable warrant against the MNS chief and asked him to appear before it on 18 June. When Thackerey did not appear before the court on, ACJM (second) Ram Karan Yadav issued a fresh non-bailable warrant against him.

The court fixed 30 July for further hearing in the case and asked the MNS chief to appear before it on that date. The court had earlier issued bailable warrants against the MNS president four times but he did not appear before it. On 12 September, 2012, advocate Devlal Prasad had filed a case against Thackeray alleging he had made an inflammatory speech against the people of Bihar.
