NOIDA to develop green cover along Hindon

Plans have also been chalked out to construct district’s largest convention centre at the site, convert a big chunk of land into a park, which would be named Lohiya Park and the <g data-gr-id="32">river front</g> as tourist hotspots.
The authority has decided to start <g data-gr-id="44">acquisition</g> of land directly from farmers and other bodies which <g data-gr-id="43">has</g> its ownership. The announcement to this effect was made by the authority officials during the scheduled board meeting of all three authorities of Gautam <g data-gr-id="46">Buddh</g> Nagar-NOIDA, Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (<g data-gr-id="47">GNIDA</g>) and Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) on Monday.
According to senior officials participating in the deliberations, Sectors 117, 118, 119, 122, 123, <g data-gr-id="60">Sorkha</g>, <g data-gr-id="61">Parthala</g> and <g data-gr-id="62">Gadhi</g> Chaukhandhi villages will be developed under the proposed plan and a convention centre (largest in Ghaziabad, Noida and Greater Noida) with the capacity of approximately 5,000 people will be constructed.
Lohiya Park’s design will be on the lines of Lucknow’s Lohiya Park. The bank land in the vicinity of Pushta Road will be developed as a river front for attracting tourists in the city. This project is expected to reap benefits in areas between Sector 118 of Noida and <g data-gr-id="51">Haibatpur</g> village near Greater Noida (West).
Rama Raman, CEO of all three authorities, said the authority has <g data-gr-id="37">intiated</g> the <g data-gr-id="38">proces</g> in this regard and have decided to procure land for the same.
“We have fixed rate of Rs 2,905 per <g data-gr-id="45">square-metre</g> for acquiring land. The move will not only help in developing a green corridor but will stop illegal construction in the area. Scores of colonisers, who have mushroomed recently, will stop erecting illegal colonies on the flood plain,” said Raman.
Apart from this, NOIDA and <g data-gr-id="39">GNIDA</g> have jointly announced to construct a heliport near <g data-gr-id="40">Gautambuddh</g> University in Greater Noida with an estimated cost of Rs 50 crore. The authorities have approved the Detailed Project Report (DPR) claiming to begin letting out tenders at the earliest.
The heliport will be used for commercial activities mainly. Yamuna Expressway authority, which also presented its annual budget, proposed an expenditure of Rs 6228.93 crore against an income of Rs 6229.15 crore.
The authority’s budget has mainly focused on infrastructure developments with major allocation on road and building constructions, industrialisation, expansion of water <g data-gr-id="57">pipe lines</g> along with other civic infrastructure. To ensure <g data-gr-id="58">development</g> of Agra, Mathura, Hathras and Aligarh regions, the authority has also announced to approve phase-II of Master Plan-2031.
