Aiming to provide social security to elderly people and orphaned children, Noida Authority has announced to develop a particular area for their proper accommodation. The authority, while announcing the move during its 168th Board Meeting-cum-Budget session, informed that a total of Rs 300 crore has been earmarked so it could provide a specially designed old-age home-cum-orphanage and parks in the city.
The centre will be four-storeyed building and each floor will have eight four-bedded rooms, 11 two-bedded rooms along with two ten-bedded dormitories and two-bedded rooms for maids. A separate hall for yoga and meditation will also be there to inculcate and nurture a healthy lifestyle. Each floor will also have a common room for elderly and orphaned children which will have facilities for indoor games. The centre will be constructed near Sector 62 Noida. The plot measures 5,000 sq metre and has additional 5.5 acre designated for a lush green park. On completion, it would cater to 216 adults and 160 children approximately. The four-storeyed centre is designed to have a library, healthcare facility rooms, medical emergency rooms, dining areas, and activity rooms.
The centre plans to have common interactive sessions for the elderly and orphaned children to develop bonding between them. The “Dada-Dadi Park” will also be created next to it on the 5.5 acre land. It will give all members a green view from all the windows and balconies.
