A 23-year-old woman, working with a leading print media house in Noida’s Sector 63, is battling for life in the ICU of a Delhi hospital after she was brutally stabbed 32 times by her live-in partner.
The incident took place at their apartment in Sector 73 on intervening night of Tuesday and Wednesday. The incident occurred when her partner, a gym trainer in Ghaziabad’s Indirapuram area, reportedly refused to marry her. Police have registered case and have booked the gym trainer in this connection.

According to the police, the incident took place at around 2 am in a flat of Krishna Apartment when the victim and her live-in partner, Varun Goyal, got into a scuffle over marriage plans. In a fit of anger Varun attacked the girl with a knife, and inflicted stab wounds on her stomach and throat and left the place leaving the victim in a pool of blood. Her neighbours, who heard her screaming, rushed to the spot and informed the police also.

The victim was immediately taken to the ICU of the District hospital from where she was referred to Lok Nayak Jai Prakash hospital in the national Capital. The neighbours told Police that Varun was possibly behind the stabbing, after getting the tip off, arrested him from his residence located in Sector 61. Police, after a sustained interrogation, said that the accused had confessed to his crime.

“As we interrogated the accused, he revealed his involvement. He said that they both were living together in the flat owned by the girl and were all set to marry. But his family members were not happy with the match following which they were fighting for the past few months. On Tuesday night when their fight turned ugly, he attacked her with the motive to kill her,” said Sandeep Singh, Circle Officer-III, Noida.
