Noida property dispute led to 74-year-old lady’s murder?

Mystery shrouds over <g data-gr-id="43">death</g> of a 74-year-old woman who was found dead in her house in Noida's Sector 29 on Thursday morning. Police have speculated that the widow, living alone, was murdered over property dispute. Signs of struggles were witnessed on her body as her ear and nose ring appeared to be snatched.
Police said, the deceased has been identified as Poonam Gehani, who was alone at her residence at night when the incident took place.
Her domestic helper, Monika informed police about Poonam’s death at 9 am the next day.
She informed that the gate was open when she reached there. She also said that the elderly woman was lying unconscious on her bed. The domestic helper called neighbours and immediately made a PCR call. The cops reached the spot and sent her body for postmortem after investigating the crime scene.
Superintendent of Police (City) Dinesh Yadav said: “No serious injury marks have been found on her body. We are waiting for the autopsy report. All angles have been kept under investigation.”
Police, in their investigation, found that her son Ranjit died last year as he was suffering from severe disease while her husband died about seven years ago. It was Ranjit's death anniversary on Wednesday,for which his s<g data-gr-id="44">ister Geeta, </g>along with her husband, and other relatives came to the house.
“Her daughter told police that they all left around 8.30 pm. She speculated that her mother was killed during midnight. Although it's a murder case, we are trying to get reasons behind it. We have been questioning the domestic helper and others so that we could proceed further,” the SP said.
