Noida Police clicks Google Map to track crimes and criminal

Crimes such as loot, theft, murder and snatching are increasing with each passing day in Noida. To improve the policing in the city and update itself about the crime prone areas where maximum loot, dacoity and snatching happens, the Noida police is now going to take the help of Google Map.

The police is planning to use the special feature of the search engine giant to earmark the exact locations in the city where maximum crimes take place.  Not just that, it will prepare a list where maximum crimes have happened in the last five years and will update it on the Google Map.

Police say that the aim behind using the move is to know about those areas where maximum number of crimes such as loot, dacoity, murder and theft have happened in the past. This list would be updated in the mobile phones of every station house officer (SHO) and senior police officials.

This initiative will help people to know about the crime prone areas in Noida. Each time, any incident takes place, the location would be sealed on the Google Map for future reference. The police will get an update immediately and will be able to take swift action as they will have the information of the criminals on their mobile phones.

Bharti Singh, superintendent of police (crime), Noida believes that the initiative will help the police to know about the locations where maximum crime happens. ‘The main motive behind using the feature is to update the police force. We will prepare a crime graph of the last five years that will help us know the type of crime, name of criminals and time of crime at particular area and how many times it has happened there. The list would be provided to all the stations and on the basis of it, we will deploy the force and ask them to increase the patrolling,’ said Singh.
