The buyers in Noida have hailed the verdict of Allahabad high court to raze two towers of Supertech Group, but at the same are worried about refund of their hard-earned money. They fear that the realty giant would not refund their money in the near future.
‘They will adopt all tricks to avoid refund of the money we have paid to them. So, it seems that we are not going to get the money but have to spend years in litigation,’ said Amit Singh, a flat buyer.Â
‘They will refund the money only if court takes stern action like it did in Sahara Group case,’ he further added.Â
The fear of long battle for refund of the money was also trending on social media. Allahabad high court on Friday had ordered Noida authority to demolish two 40-storyed towers of Supertech in Sector 93A and also to refund the money to buyers at 14 per cent rate of compound interest.
‘The agreement made by builder with buyers is one sided. They never show the real sample of the flats and force to deposit a huge amount of money at initial  stage, which makes it difficult for buyers to back out at any stage,’ said Naveen Dubey, a buyer.
Sharing his experience, a flat buyer in Noida Snidh Singh said, ‘I had booked a flat in Noida Extension two years back and the date of possession has already expired. We have no option but to depend on the mercy of builder. They have made so strong agreement in their favour that I could not do anything against them,’ Singh added.
The buyers have also made several associations in the region to fight unitedly against the builders. ‘We are collecting the copies of agreements of all the major builders in the area and soon file a public interest litigation in the high court,’ said Naveen Dubey. Noida, Greater Noida, Noida Extension, and Ghaziabad region in Noida have become the hub of builders for their proximity to the national capital Delhi but due to improper control the builders are working on their whims and fancies.Â
‘It’s not only unauthorised constructions but they also deprive the buyers of their basic rights. In their initial advertisements they show green area, commercial spaces etc but build towers on these places in connivance with the government officers and politicians,’ said Amit Chauhan.
