Noida Ext controversy an international topic

The land acquisition issue of Noida Extension and Bhatta Parsual village in Greater Noida may have been only a matter litigation or sheer politics for Indian authorities, but it has crossed the national boundary and caught the attention of Americans.

A student of Brown University, United States of America, has selected the Noida issue as his PhD topic.

Michel Jhonson, 24, reached was in a village in Noida Extension of Greater Noida last Wednesday with his colleague and interacted with farmers and their families. ‘I want to study the real cause behind the issue and put my entire effort to provide a solution to the farmers’ issues related to land acquisition in India,’ said Jhonson. Dushyant Nagar, Convenor of Kishan Sangarsh Samiti in Noida Extension, accompanied him and acted as interpreter.

Nagar, a resident of Roza village, is an advocate by profession. Jhonson stayed in Noida extension village from 9 am to 2 pm and then went to Dadri where the land was acquired by Reliance energy to set up a thermal power.

‘He will study the land acquisition cases in Greater Noida areas for a couple of days,’ said Nagar.

Brown University, located in Rhode Island in USA, was founded in 1764. The university is the seventh-oldest college in the United States.
