Noida Authority plans Urban Transport Fund to ensure smooth travel

To solve the problem of poor transport system in the city, Noida Authority has decided to form a fund and use it introduce more auto-rickshaws and buses.

The decision was taken in the board meeting on Friday that was attended by the top officials of Noida and Greater Noida Authority, including chairman Rama Raman.

In the meeting, various important issues and upcoming projects were discussed. One of the prime issues of the residents in Noida is the dearth of auto-rickshaws and bus services. Even though the city is well-connected to Delhi with the metro train, people face transport troubles after Noida City Centre and in other sectors that are not connected with the metro.

To solve this problem, Noida Authority has decided to form an Urban Transport Development Fund. The chairman also said that metro connectivity in each sectors is not possible and to ensure last mile connectivity to the dwellers in the city, the authority has planned to form an Urban Transport Development Fund.

He said, ‘Both Noida and Greater Noida Authorities will invest Rs 500 crore in UTDF and decide the ways in which funds will be utilised for bringing different modes of transport for smooth mobility.’
