Despite the Noida Transport Association moving the high court against the Noida Authority over the issue of price for land allocation, authority chairman Rama Raman is hopeful that the court will do justice and the much-awaited Transport Nagar would be launched in December.
Apparently the work of the multi-crore project on 26 acre land in Sector 69 is nearly finished. But there was a tussle between the Noida Transport Association and the authority over the price for land allocation. While the authority wants to sell land for Rs 70,000 per sqm, the transporters want to buy the land at a price of Rs 7,000 per sqm. A senior official with the authority said that the high court has directed the protesting transporters to form their representative but they have failed to do so. So they are positive about winning the case.
Rama Raman told Millennium Post that the construction is complete and the scheme is expected to be launched in December. The authority had conceived the project in 2009 looking at the continuous demand by the transporters. The Transport Nagar would benefit thousands of transporters who usually park their vehicles on main roads leading to decongestion.
