Noida and Gr Noida to have 100 buses for inter-city connectivity

The Noida Authority is going to introduce 100 buses for inter-city connectivity in Noida and Greater Noida. The administrative body has invited transporters, including private transporters for application through EOI (expression of interest). The last date for applications has been fixed as 31 January.

Taking into consideration the scarcity of buses in the cities, Noida Authority’s traffic cell has decided to bring 40 buses to ply within Noida, 30 buses in Greater Noida and 30 buses between Noida and Greater Noida.

Under the scheme, private transporters, will bring their own buses, arrange for their maintenance and provide for the staff. All buses will be fully air-conditioned and will ply round the clock within the city.

Sandip Chandra, senior project engineer and head of Traffic Cell, Noida Authority said, ‘To ensure smooth connectivity within the city, we are planning to introduce 100 inter-city buses in both Noida and Greater Noida initially. We will scale it up to 200 buses later.’

‘The transporters will be paid on the kilometer basis. This means that the cost of the ticket will be measured per kilometer. But as it will be a little high, we will pay the remaining amount after the profits we gain from the ticket sales, to the transporters,’ Chandra added.
