Noida: Amity University student shot dead by friend

Police said the deceased has been identified as Sandesh Bhaskar (23), a native of Andhra Pradesh. He was a student of Marine Science in Amity University, Noida, and lived along with two friends, Nadeem and Madhur, in World Blue Society in Sector-100, Noida.

The incident took place at around 4.30 pm when he was alone inside his flat. Police said a youth, identified as Aman, who is a student of Tourism Science at Amity University <g data-gr-id="22">reached at</g> Sandesh’s flat and rang the door bell. As soon as Sandesh opened the door, Aman shot at him and fled the spot.

Acting on a tip-off, police reached the spot and rushed him to a nearby hospital where doctors declared him brought death. His body has been sent for postmortem and the deceased’s family members who live in Andhra Pradesh have been informed.

Sandesh’s friends — Nadeem and Madhur — are also students of Tourism Science in Amity <g data-gr-id="27">University</g> but they were not present in the flat when the incident took place. Police have begun <g data-gr-id="24">investigation</g> and an FIR has been registered against Aman under Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code in <g data-gr-id="25">Sector-39</g> police station.
