Mishra claimed, he along with Matiala MLA Gulab Singh Yadav, visited Ghumanhera village to confirm the report aired on some sections of the media. He said: “Certain news channels and newspapers which had reported stories of mass migration from the village on account of water scarcity was completely a false.”
Mishra claimed, that even the locals informed him during his visit that not even a single villager had migrated from Ghumanhera.
Meanwhile, Mishra accused a BJP leader of being involved in airing this story. He said the houses that were locked were of residents who had constructed new houses 15 years ago and moved to their new homes. “Images of these locked homes were used to show migration. This clearly showed that there was no migration and the propaganda spread by the BJP was malicious and false,” Mishra said.
The minister said that the news reports were proven to be completely fake and based on a false basis. He further directed Delhi Jal Board (DJB) officials to expedite any pending works in Matiala.
Mishra said: “It is unfortunate that BJP indulges in such acts of misinformation and negative politics.
DJB has done stellar work in the field of water production, management and distribution across the city covering 217 unauthorised colonies last year, and will cover 300 new colonies in the city this year. We are going to cover all of Delhi with piped water supply by December 2017.”
