No takers for Antony report in UP Congress

While the three member Antony Committee has submitted the reasons behind Congress Party's failure in the Uttar Pradesh assembly elections, what has miffed a few senior leaders from the state is that their viewpoints were not taken into consideration. A senior leader of the party said that it was they who recommended the formation of a committee to look into the factors for the poor result, however the committee did not call on them for their view point.

'The committee only took the view points of the six ministers and apart from them no Member of Parliament was called for feedback' said a senior leader who was actively involved in the run up to the elections. Senior leaders from the party allege that the reasons for the defeat that are now coming out from the committee were first highlighted by them, after the results of the elections came out.

The three member Antony Committee also had Delhi Chief Minister Shiela Dikshit and Union Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde as members. The committee's mandate was to find the reasons for the poor performance of the party in the assembly election in the state.
