No scam in vectracide purchase: EDMC

East Delhi Municipal Corporation on Thursday rubbished the Delhi government’s charge of scam in purchase of pesticide to control dengue vector. The matter was raised in the EDMC meeting, where standing committee chairman Lata Gupta said: “There is no scam in purchase of the pesticide to control dengue vector. Contrary to SDMC and NDMC, we purchased lesser quantity of it.” Earlier in the day, Delhi Water Minister Kapil Mishra alleged a “scam” in the purchase of dengue vector control chemical ‘vectracide’ by BJP-ruled EDMC at a “higher rate” than South Delhi and North Delhi Municipal Corporations.
