Justice Manmohan passed the order on a plea by a resident of the nearby BK Dutt Colony as well as Delhi police who have opposed the proposed demonstration saying it could pose a law and order problem.
The area had witnessed violent protests in the past over the issue of ownership of the Karbala land on which a nursery has been built.
The petition moved by BK Dutt Colony resident, Avatar Lal Gill, has alleged that as recently as March 10 violent protests had been seen there over the disputed land and it had led to destruction of property and vehicles.
Apprehending such violent protests again on 31 March, Gill has sought directions to the police ‘to maintain public order in and around the Karbala/nurseries situated near BK Dutt Colony’.
Meanwhile, another bench in another plea related to the land dispute ordered that the 22 January direction of the court be implemented.
On 22 January, the court had directed that the people whose relatives have been buried in the graves inside the nursery be allowed to visit them after writing their names in a register.
