No politics over development, says Akhilesh Yadav

Uttar Pradesh chief minister Akhilesh Yadav on Friday said Samajwadi Party government does not believe in playing politics when it comes to the development of the state, and the government has lent support to anyone wanting to set up a project in the state.

‘Central government or anyone showing interest in setting up any project in the state has been provided all possible help including land by the state government as we do not indulge in politics on development,’ the chief minister who laid the foundation stone of Maitreya project in Kushinagar district said on Friday afternoon.

Referring to AIIMS in Rae Bareli district, the parliamentary constituency of Congress president Sonia Gandhi, Yadav said the previous government kept it on hold for five years while the present government provided land for it without delay.

Similarly in Amethi or in the districts of central ministers, state government has made land available for projects, he said.

The chief minister said that after assuming charge, the present government has been constantly striving for the betterment of the state and will provide full cooperation to all the projects coming its way.

On the Maitreya project, the chief minister said that due to the non-cooperation of the previous government the office-bearers of the Trust were very unhappy and had also given letter to stop the project.

‘UP government decided to pursue the project, which has resulted in this foundation laying programme on Friday,’ he said.

The chief minister said that the project will help the locals get education and medical facilities and will also increase social harmony.

He expressed confidence that work on the project will begin soon and the government will help in completing the project in time.

Referring to the huge tourism potential of UP, he said this is the land of Rama, Krishna and Buddha.
