Downplaying the appearance of ISIS flags during street protests in the valley, J&K chief minister Omar Abdullah on Tuesday denied the terror group’s presence in the state and said action had been taken against the ‘foolish youths’ who displayed the flags.
‘No groups of the ISIS are present (in J&K). Some foolish youths used the flags but that was it,’ Abdullah told the media here after meeting Union home minister Rajnath Singh to discuss the border tension with Pakistan. ‘Unfortunately some channels have played up this issue unnecessarily but we have already taken action against the guilty,’ he added.
