No information about LeT approaching riot victims, say UP police

The Uttar Pradesh police on Tuesday denied any information from Delhi police that terror outfit Lashkar-e-Tayyeba has contacted youths in Muzaffarnagar to recruit them in their organisation.

Principal secretary  (home) Anil Kumar Gupta said that the intelligence unit of Uttar Pradesh police has no information about LeT module getting in touch with riots victims and has allured them to join their ranks.

‘We do not have any information regarding this,’ Gupta told reporters here on Tuesday.

A senior police official here said that Delhi police have not ‘shared any details of Lashkar activities in Muzzafarnagar camps with us.’ ‘If it is so, it is Delhi police’s independent inputs,’ the official said.

He said UP police were not aware of any such Laskhar activities in Muzaffarnagar or any other part of the state.
