No Ganga water for next 22 days in Noida, Ghaziabad

Ganga water will not be available for several residential colonies in Trans-Hindon and Noida areas from tomorrow onwards for next 22 days as the connecting canal with the river will go for a de-silting process.
Additional Municipal Commissioner DK Sinha said water supply from Haridwar in Gang Nehar (Ganges Canal) has been stopped from today for de-silting of canal. A continuous operation of de-silting of Gang Nehar will be in full swing for the next 22 days and water supply will be restored around 25 October, he said. All the residential colonies of Noida and trans-Hindon areas, such as Vasundhara, Vaishali, Indirapuram, Kaushambi, Chander Nagar, Surya Nagar, Ramprastha, Rampuri, Brij Vihar Radha Kunj?will get affected by the move.
Sinha further said that Partap Vihar Ganga Water Treatment Plant is getting a regular supply of 100 MLD (million litres daily) of Ganga water, out of which 56 MLD is supplied in trans-Hindon area colonies and rest of the 44 MLD water is supplied to Noida. He assured that Ghaziabad municipality will make its best effort to provide 50 MLD of water supply to all the colonies of trans-Hindon area from its own resources.
