No person has yet been arrested for the road rage incident at Rohini on Thursday, in which a school bus driver and a woman teacher in the bus were severely beaten up by two men for not letting their vehicle overtake.
‘The vehicle, which the accused men were driving, bore a number plate from Haryana and because of the long-stretched weekend break since Independence Day, we haven’t been able to get any information about the owner of the car,’ said Vikramjit Singh, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Outer). He further said they have called up the police in Haryana for details, but been able to give
any input yet. ‘It seems like we can proceed only after Monday’, he added.
A Delhi Public School (Rohini) bus, was stopped near the Japanese Park in Rohini, on Thursday by an Alto car. Two people came out of the car and started hitting the bus driver with a rod. They also hit a woman teacher who was there in the bus.
In a similar incident in Dwarka the same afternoon, another school bus was intercepted by an SUV driver. The accused men thrashed the driver and damaged the bus, in which one student was injured. No senior police official were available for comment on the matter.
