NJHPS generation reaches 75,000 mu

Generation at India's largest 1500 <g data-gr-id="14">mw</g> Nathpa Jhakri Hydro Power Station in Himachal Pradesh has crossed 75,000 million units since commencement of commercial generation in 2004 informed Sanjeev Sood, General Manager & Head of Project. The power station has established a benchmark for the country's hydro power industry with a daily generation of over 38 million units during the peak season, he told. This record in <g data-gr-id="24">generation</g> had been achieved with efficient water and machine management, he said.
With the commissioning of <g data-gr-id="18">down stream</g> 412 <g data-gr-id="16">mw</g> Rampur Hydro Power Station, being operated in tandem with the Nathpa Jhakri Station, SJVN was operating about 2000 <g data-gr-id="17">mw</g> capacity with a daily generation of about 40 million units which is being supplied to northern grid states including Delhi. It was the only <g data-gr-id="20">hydro power</g> generation plant in the country to have <g data-gr-id="19">inhouse</g> hard coating facility for <g data-gr-id="21">under water</g> turbine parts, he told.
During the first quarter of the financial year, <g data-gr-id="12">upto</g> 30th June, the power station has already generated more than 2650 million units of electricity and is targeted to generate 7100 million units during the current financial year.
