The 65th Annual Nirankari Sant Samagam of the Sant Nirankari Mission of Baba Hardev Singh Ji Maharaj concludes on Monday.
‘The event was held in the sprawling Samagam ground, which is spread over almost 400 acres of land. Besides the main satsang pandal, a township of tents have been provided to facilitate boarding and lodging to lakhs of devotees of the Mission, who have come from across the country and abroad,’ said a team member.
The arrangements for the Samagam are being looked after by the executive committee of the Sant Nirankari Mandal, with the necessary coordination and cooperation by the Government of Delhi. ‘Each department is being assisted by a number of sub-committes. Thousands of devotees and volunteers from Delhi and Greater Delhi have been working day and night for a month now for the meet’, said Kripa Sagar, member incharge.
Delhi Transport Corporation has provided 900 buses. ‘As is essential for such a large gathering, Delhi Fire Service stationed six fire extinguishers at various points. Authorities concerned have made necessary arrangements for traffic control and security as well,’ said a member of the organisation. The medical and social welfare department has provided with eight dispensaries with a total provision of 70 beds.
The Samagam, which has begun with the procession of Baba Hardev Singh Ji Maharaj and his followers, was followed by open sessions. The main attraction of the event is the exhibition, which will depict the ideology and history of the Mission, through photographs and models.
