Nigerian woman molested in moving auto, driver held

Police have arrested a 45-year-old auto driver for allegedly molesting and throwing a Nigerian woman off the auto-rickshaw in West Delhi’s Tilak Nagar area. The accused person has been identified as Aagya Pal Singh. One of the other accused, Baljeet, is still absconding.

According to the police, the incident took place at around 1.30 am on the intervening night of Friday and Saturday near Krishna Park area in Tilak Nagar when the Nigerian woman, a Delhi University student was heading towards her friend’s place in Shahpura. She got into one of the auto-rickshaws. However, once she entered the auto, the driver of the second auto got behind her. A scuffle ensued between the drivers who touched the woman inappropriately. 

When she raised an alarm, she was slapped and pushed out of the moving auto. She made a PCR call after which she was taken to the DDU hospital for treatment.
