Nigerian nabbed at IGIA for carrying cocaine

The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) recovered cocaine worth Rs 30 lakhs from a Nigerian at IGI Airport on Thursday. The accused was identified as Chinazor Festus Mbalughi (38).
The CISF noticed his suspicious activities in Terminal-D and during the screening of his handbag at the X-ray machine, narcotics were detected (in capsule form) which were kept in 10 capsules wrapped in polythene, hidden in the handbag. The accused revealed that he came to India on business visa on September 29 and was supposed to go to Mumbai by an Indigo Flight.
“The matter was immediately informed to Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) officials. On arrival, the NCB officials confirmed the seized narcotic substance as cocaine which weighed about 185 gm. The estimated value of the recovered cocaine in International market would be Rs 30 lakhs approximately. The apprehended passenger along with the recovered narcotic substance was handed over to NCB officials for further legal action,” said Hemendra Singh, Public Relation Officer (PRO), CISF.
Meanwhile, earlier on Tuesday, during area surveillance through CCTV, CISF observed a GHA staff, deployed at belt number 10 in BBA area of T-3, taking out belongings from a passenger’s bag. He was immediately detained. The accused was identified as Nasib and the CISF recovered Hungarian currency from his possession. The accused revealed the name of another staff, Narendra Pal, for assisting him. Both the accused were later handed over to Delhi police by CISF for further legal action.
