NIA files charge-sheet against 26 NDFB(S) militants

NIA has filed <g data-gr-id="10">charge</g> sheet in five cases this month against 26 NDFB(S) militants accused in the killing of tribal villagers and members of the minority community in three Assam districts last year.

The agency has filed three <g data-gr-id="11">chargesheets</g> against 18 militants of the outlawed outfit accused of killing 41 tribal villagers in Sonitpur and Kokrajhar districts in December last, a senior NIA official here said.

A supplementary charge sheet was filed against six militants along with two others in a separate case this month, in addition to the one filed against two militants in October last year for their alleged involvement in the killing of 39 members of the minority community in Baksa district in May last year, the official said. The NIA had filed a charge sheet at Special NIA Court, Guwahati on Wednesday against four NDFB(S) militants in the case where they have been accused of killing six persons in Hatijuli village, he said.
