NIA cracks Bodh Gaya blasts case

The agency has said that the Ranchi module of the Indian Mujahideen (IM) was responsible for the blasts at the Mahabodhi Temple, pointing towards the same group that was behind the serial bombings at Narendra Modi‘s Patna rally.

Agency reports say that the NIA had recovered a chart during a raid at a Ranchi lodge on Monday with the details of those involved in planting the bombs that resulted in the blasts in Bodh Gaya.

Ten blasts took place in Bodh Gaya on 7 July, but no deaths were reported. Two monks were injured in the incident, while three unexploded bombs were found later. The NIA also recovered explosives during the raid at the lodge in the Hindpiri locality of Ranchi. The raid was conducted after a tip off by the Patna police, according to reports. After scanning the documents recovered, several names had emerged. Some of those allegedly involved in the blast are already under custody, while others are absconding.
