NHRC for Rs 5 lakh relief in Assam encounter case

Raising doubts over the genuineness of an encounter by the police, the national human rights commission (NHRC) has recommended that the Assam government to pay Rs 5 lakh as relief to the family of a man, who was killed three years ago in Sonitpur district.The cops maintained that the CRPF during a search operation had retaliated when fired on by NDFB cadres killing two of them while a third escaped in Doimoguri village in the district in 2010.
