NGT not barred from hearing plea on Delhi pollution: SC

The Supreme Court on Thursday clarified that it has not stopped National Green Tribunal from passing any order in matters pertaining to pollution in Delhi and asked a body, which wants to organise a vintage car rally for a social cause, to approach the green panel instead. A Bench comprising Chief Justice T S Thakur and R Banumathi asked senior advocate KTS Tulsi to move the tribunal with the plea that the vintage car rally be allowed to be held in the national Capital as it would generate funds for disabled children. During the hearing, Tulsi referred to the part of December 16, 2015, order of the Apex Court and sought its modification on the ground that it prohibited the NGT from entertaining the plea on the car rally.
