Stressing on the importance of education, senior Samajwadi Party leader and local legislator Gomti Yadav said that only that society can progress whose children are educated. It is the education that can help them differentiate between the good and the bad, he added.
Addressing a function organised on occasion of an Independence Day by a social organisation Bondhu Mahal, in collaboration with Daya Shankar Patwa Charitable Trust at Government Primary School, Juggaur in Chinhat, he said education opens new avenues in life for the children.
‘Even after 66 years of Independence we have failed to make satisfactory progress in the education sector. A good education can only helps the children to attain new heights,’ Yadav said, while addressing students and villagers present on the occassion.
Bondhu Mahal distributed free notebooks, colour books, crayons, science copies, pencils and pens among the students of the primary and the junior sections.
‘It is a good endeavour on the part of Bondhu Mahal to distribute notebooks among students of weak sections in villages as they do get books from the government but not notebooks and pencils. And in the absence of notebooks their education is not complete,’ Vijay Bahadur Pathak, BJP’s chief spokesman said.
‘A good education will help in dispelling the darkness of ignorance from the children’s lives,’ Pathak said.
Over 300 children – 200 from primary section and 100 from Junior sections were given note books, pens and pencils.
S K Mukherjee, a senior member of Bondhu Mahal, also distributed notebooks among students. Madhu Srivastava, Principal Government Primary School also addressed the gathering.
