Newspaper carries missing report two months after minor girl returns home

Two months after a missing minor girl returned home, newspapers on Thursday were found to be still carrying a missing report on her. The family of the minor has blamed carelessness on the part of the police for the goof-up.
On 13 May, the girl a resident of  west Delhi’s Mundka area and a student of class X, had gone missing from home. Her parents had  lodged a missing complaint at Mundka police station. Three days later, on 16 May, she returned home and claimed she had gone to attend a wedding with some neighbours.

The girl’s parents claim that they had immediately informed the police of their daughter’s return. On 17 May, the girl’s parents and officials of the local police station had also allegedly gone to the Tis Hazari court and cancelled the missing case.

It was therefore with extreme shock that the family saw their daughter's missing report in a daily Hindi newspaper on Thursday.

The report carried full details of the girl as well as her family, allegedly provided by officials of the Mundka police station.
The girl’s family claims that the report has caused them harassment, with worried relatives enquiring about the girl’s whereabouts. ‘Appropriate action should be taken against the responsible police officials'.
An official said, ‘Investigations are on to find out the culprit.’
