Newborn taken to Kolkata, nurse suspended

The infant boy, whose thumb was severed allegedly by a nurse at a government hospital in South Dinajpur district, was on Tuesday sent to a Kolkata hospital for further treatment. The district health department received the suspension order of the nurse following announcement by CM Mamata Banerjee that she should be terminated from services.
