New voters to collect their ID cards on 4 April

The Election Commission has urged all new voters, who have got themselves enrolled in the capital’s electoral list, to collect their voter identity cards by 4 April from the district election offices, an official said Tuesday.
‘In the national capital, a total of 6.45 lakh new voters have been enrolled in the electoral roll after Jan 31,’ Delhi Chief Electoral Officer Vijay Dev told a press conference here.
There are a total of 1.27 crore voters in the national capital and of them, more than one lakh are first-time voters.
‘Of the total 11,763 polling stations, 407 have been tagged as critical, while 90 have been tagged as hyper critical polling stations. A large number of security forces will be deployed in all the critical and hyper critical polling stations,’ said Dev.
