It may be mentioned that on Sunday evening the accused came on a motorbike and opened fire at a man identified as Azad, who is also involved in various antisocial activities.

The incident took place when Azad was waiting outside the shop of the motorbike mechanic and Raj, the mechanic, was repairing his bike. Sahid had opened fire to kill Azad. But the bullet hit Raju, who is admitted in a hospital.

Preliminary investigation had revealed that the incident was an outcome of rivalry between two groups of miscreants.

Police had all records of Sahid and conducted a raid in his house at New town last night. But he was not found there.

On Monday morning police came to know that he has taken shelter somewhere in Sasan and conducted the raid.

There were several other cases pending against Sahid. A senior police officer said that there are 11 cases against him in different police stations under the jurisdiction of Bidhannagar Commissionerate.

The police are interrogating Sahid to get details of the motorbike that was used while committing the crime.

The police officer said that more of his gang will be arrested soon and he has been interrogated to

Local people claimed that the miscreant on whom Sahid had opened fired should also be arrested or else the trouble will continue.
