After the allocation of bungalows to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, the Delhi Public Works department has allotted official residences to Asim Ahmed Khan, Gopal Rai and Satyendra Jain.
Delhi’s new deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia has been allotted the four-bedroom duplex on AB-17 Mathura Road that was earlier occupied by former Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit, who had resided in the bungalow till 2004. Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, on the other hand, has been allotted a new official residence at 6 Flagstaff Road in Delhi’s Civil Lines area.
Kejriwal presently lives with his family in a flat allotted to his wife, a central government official in Kaushambi, Ghaziabad.
The food and civil supplies minister Asim Ahmed Khan got allotment into a bungalow at 206, Rauze Avenue on DDU Marg behind Bal Bhawan. Earlier, it was allotted to former Delhi government food and civil supplies and power minister Harun Yusuf, who vacated it in March 2014.
Delhi transport minister Gopal Rai has been allotted the newly-constructed bungalow number 3 and power minister Satyender Jain got residence bungalow number 2, both at Raj-Niwas. Bungalow numbers 1 and 4 are already occupied by Delhi Lieutenant-Governor Secretariat staffs for official purposes.
The six bungalows of the Delhi government constructed at an estimated cost of over Rs 16 crores, have been lying vacant ever since their completion in 2011. The ministers of the then Sheila Dikshit government had refused to stay in these bungalows due to personal reasons.
