Nepalese national gang-raped; locked in loo, one arrested

A-22-year-old Nepalese woman was allegedly gang-raped by three men at their flat in East Delhi’s New Ashok Nagar area on July 27. Sources said that the accused identified as Yogesh, Amit and Sahil allegedly raped the woman and locked her inside the washroom threatening her of dire consequences. One of the accused, Amit was arrested by police on Tuesday.
On July 27, at around 11.30 am, Yogesh allegedly took the woman to her flat claiming that it was his birthday. When the woman reached the flat, she saw two others — Amit and Sahil. They allegedly spiked her cold drink with sedatives and then allegedly raped her, said sources.
Sources further said that when the woman woke up, she tried to escape but was brutally thrashed by the trio and then forcefully locked inside the washroom. Pleading to be freed, the woman alleged that she begged them to let her go alive saying that she will not report the matter. After which, she was allegedly allowed to leave the flat.
She approached the local police the next day. Based on her complaint, a case under relevant sections of the IPC was registered against the accused at the New Ashok Nagar police station.
Sources added that medical examination of the woman confirmed sexual assault. Further investigation is on.
