<g data-gr-id="33">olkata</g>: Train accidents, the Kargil battle, the famous 2004 Tsunami and the Gujarat riots; these are just <g data-gr-id="23">few of</g> the natural or man-made disasters which Kolkata pujas have taken as a theme over the years. The Nepal Earthquake is the most recent addition to this trend as the South Kumortuli Park and <g data-gr-id="24">Barisha's</g> Nabaliapara pujas have zeroed in on this recent tragedy to base their pujas on the aforementioned theme.
According to the <g data-gr-id="26">organizers</g> they have primarily taken this theme to showcase the power of human will. “ The story of re-discovering life from between the rubble of this tragedy is what we are trying to portray through our theme puja”, said one organizer. In the Kumortuli Puja, Indian soldiers will be depicted trying to rescue people from under the destroyed sites. “ We will try to portray how our Indian jawans, without any fear or <g data-gr-id="28">trepidation</g> went to our neighbouring country and rescued the people struck by this <g data-gr-id="29">tragedy.</g>” revealed an organizer.
On the other hand, Nabaliapara United club has joined hands with the Nepal embassy. According to the <g data-gr-id="18">organizers</g> the pandal will resemble the Nepal Buddhist Stupa. There will even be a stage adjoining the pandal that where Nepali songs and dances will be performed.
