NDMC to take to Facebook to reach out to people

The New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) is planning to launch a Facebook page to address complaints received from residents.
According to sources, the complainants would be informed about the status of their complaints as well. ‘A dedicated team would monitor the complaints and inform the complainants about the status online,’ said a senior officer of NDMC.
According to officers of the council, they receive complaints regarding parking, tehbazari, unauthorised construction, electricity bill, water bill, erratic water supply, sanitation and waterlogging among other things.

‘Currently, most people personally visit the head office or call up to register their complaints. Through this site they would be able to post the pictures and upload video as well which would help us in understanding their complaints better,’ the official said. The council claims more options and even a new software to monitor the complaints.
The three municipal corporations in the city-North DMC, South DMC, East DMC already have Facebook pages and so does the Delhi traffic police.
