NDMC to study Taj Mansingh hotel Court notice before starting auction

The New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) decided on Wednesday to study the court notice before finalising the process of auctioning Taj Mansingh, presently run by the Tatas. The Council, presided over by Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit, took the decision to postpone a decision on the issue and a special meeting will be convened to take a view on the matter. 'The council discussed the matter and it was decided that first the notice will be studied and then a special meeting of the council will be called to look into it,' NDMC spokesperson Arun Kumar Mishra said. The Delhi high court on Tuesday asked NDMC to respond to Tata Group's plea seeking to restrain the land-owning agency from auctioning the property on which Taj Mansingh Hotel is located.
