The NDMC has sent a notice to the AIIMS director to clear the <g data-gr-id="14">aedes</g> mosquito breeding spots in the country’s premier health institute’s campus at the earliest failing which the civic body will remove them and impose a fine on the institute.
“During inspections, <g data-gr-id="19">presence</g> of breeding ground of <g data-gr-id="17">aedes</g> mosquito were spotted at several pockets within the AIIMS campus which <g data-gr-id="18">includes</g> the residential campus. Despite being issued several notices, the administration has failed to take preventive measures to check breeding of mosquitoes,” said an NDMC official.
Despite being <g data-gr-id="22">challaned</g> on almost eight occasions and 17 notices being served by NDMC, the institute has failed to take preventive measures to check breeding of mosquitoes, so the notice has been sent to the AIIMS director, for violating provisions of the NDMC Act and asked to clear up the breeding spots at the earliest. According to several faculty members residing at eastern and western areas of the AIIMS residential campus, many staff and their family members have been affected by dengue.
