NDMC launches ‘Swachhta Doot’

Naresh Kumar, Chairman, New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) launched ‘Swachhta Doot’ as a brand Ambassador for Swachhta Abhiyan in entire NDMC area in a function organised at NDMC Convention Centre, New Delhi on Saturday.

NDMC has identified 20 ‘Swachhta Doot’ from all of its Resident Welfare Association (RWAs), Market Traders Associations (MTAs) and JJ clusters, who shall carry the torch of taking pro-active initiatives in cleanliness drive in NDMC areas. The ‘Swachhta Doot’ will deal with all challenges in sustainability of Swachhta Abhiyan in their and neighboring areas in making NDMC area a world class city.

Naresh Kumar speaking on the occasion said that NDMC has been actively involved in the Swachh Bharat Mission launched by Prime Minister of India. He further said that the Community participation is the key to bring in more efficiency and sustainability in the mission of making the NDMC as garbage free area. 

For this purpose NDMC felicitated the RWAs, MTAs and JJ Clusters representatives for their co-operation and co-ordation. Naresh Kumar has also informed that the Government of India is going to evaluate the various city in respect of sanitation and cleanliness under the Swachh Bharat Mission from January 5, 2016, in view of which NDMC has take all initiatives to maintain cleanliness in its area.

He further said that NDMC already formed inspection teams who interact with the residents of the area to sort out issues related to civic amenities in comprehensive manner.
