NDMC inaugurates PTUs in its area

Aiming to achieve goals under Swachh NDMC Project, the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC), on Thursday inaugurated Public Toilet Utilities (PTUs) in its area. The NDMC officials said that as many as 273 PTUs/ CTUs are already operational and the work of 37 PTUs are in progress, likely to be completed within a period of three months. The Council has undertaken the construction of another 110 PTUs/CTUs having the facilities like water ATM, Bank ATM and facilitation centre etc. The work of 71 PTUs/CTUs has already been awarded and the work pertaining to 39 is under process of award.

“This is the first step taken by NDMC towards transforming New Delhi as an efficient, effective and livable city by providing Smart Public Toilet Utilities with high standard basic facilities and civic amenities. One can now locate the nearest toilet facilities at NDMC App ‘NDMC311’ anywhere in NDMC area,” said the official. 

“The PTUs/CTU maintenance and upkeep is generally appreciated by residents and visitors of NDMC area. Such public facilities will be useful for the residents of adjoining area and the floating population along with the localities like Sanjay Camp, Vivekananda Camp, Kalibari Camp, Arjun Das Camp, Tughlak Lane – JJ Cluster, Anant Ram Dairy Camp, Khushak Nallah and Teen Murti Camp,” said the official.
